    Bacon wrapped turkey breast with tomatoes! Because everything is better wrapped in bacon, right? I sure do love my turkey; it's one of my favorite meats. If it were up to me, we'd have at least two Turkey Days every year. Seriously, unless Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I can never find a whole bird. It's so sad! Fortunately, turkey breast is always available at my local market, so my favorite poultry can be enjoyed year round.

    The key to bacon wrapped food is forming a single layer with thinly cut bacon slices. Thick cut bacon doesn't quite fit the bill when it comes to wrapping, as it doesn't tend to crisp up as easily. Just wrap the bacon slice around one end, then lay a piece of bacon right next to the edge of that and wrap. Continue wrapping until your meat is covered! Pretty simple stuff, there's no need to get fancy with folds or a bacon weave. Just enclose your meat in a thin layer of bacon and prepare to eat

    Absolutely, you can cook turkey breast in a crockpot! Slow-cooking is a wonderful method to keep your turkey moist and tender without constantly basting. Pile your ingredients in the crockpot and forget about it all until dinner time!

    How long do you cook turkey breast in crockpot?

    In a covered crockpot, it will take about 8 hours on low heat for the turkey to become fully cooked. Be sure to focus on the temperature of the meat instead of the total time cooked, as crockpot temperatures can vary greatly. Low, medium and high settings aren't an exact way to measure heat, so it's always best to cook until the turkey's internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Same goes for any other substantial cuts of meat! If you don't have a meat thermometer, be sure to pick one up.

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound turkey breast raw
    • 8 oz pre-sliced bacon thinly cut
    • 3 tomatoes diced, without skin
    • ½ tsp garlic powder
    • ½ tsp black pepper
    • Salt to taste
    • Bay leaves to taste

    Instructions

    • Wrap turkey breast chops with bacon slices.
    • In a crockpot, combine tomatoes, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and bay leaves. 
    • Add the bacon wrapped turkey to the cooker, cover, and cook on high for 4 hours, medium for 6 hours, and low for 8 hours. 
    • Remove bay leaves from the cooking sauce. Serve turkey in slices with the sauce.
