The spices and bacon meld together to create a depth of flavor that is truly unbelievable. The best part though? It’s incredibly easy to prepare… like Top Ramen easy. I remember the first time I whipped this up for hubs and my MIL, they assumed I had poured hours into gingerly doting on a simmering pot all day long. Jokes on them! In less than 30 minutes you can have homemade egg drop soup on the table.
I guarantee that it’s better than any egg drop soup you’ll pick up at a restaurant. Why? Because bacon.

In celebration of the marriage of two of the most comforting foods, I made a video. It’s my fist go at stop motion! I’ve been forever entertained by the way ordinary things become animated frame-by-frame, so it was really fun to see the ingredients come to life!
I sat down with my toddler once it was all said and done to play her the video. Her reaction was priceless: face lit up, clapped her hands together in excitement and she let out a long “cooooooooooooool!” Well worth the time moving shot by shot by shot. Love or hate stop motion, I am one happy mama!
