  • 1 avocado ripe
  • 1/2 lime juiced
  • 1 clove garlic minced or grated
  • 1/8 tsp cumin ground
  • salt to taste
  • optional mix-ins: chopped red onion, diced jalapeno or serrano pepper, cilantro, diced tomatoes or tomatillos, chili powder, chili flakes.


  • Cut avocado in half and discard pit. Scoop out avocado flesh and place in a bowl or mortar.
  • Add lime juice, garlic, cumin, and salt. If you want smooth guacamole, add any optional mix-ins.
  • Using a pestle or fork, crush ingredients together until you reach desired consistency.
  • If you prefer a chunky-style guacamole, add optional mix-ins once avocado has been mashed.
